Websites of Interest

http://www.bloomberg.com/energy/
This website is ideal for me because it tells whenever there is a price difference in crude oil. Whether it be up or down, this is updated to the minute!

This website is perfect for me because it talks about everything i want to uncover in my research paper. Does the price of oil really justify the price of gas, and what reasons are out there for this price.

This website is perfect for my research because it talks about the history of crude oil and the change of price throughout the years.

Crude Oil= $61

I read a blog about how the price of crude oil is down from 76 dollars to 61. It was 76 dollars around 2 weeks ago, and now it has dropped further. Here is the link to the blog that i read. It was very interesting, check it out!

The price of oil justifies the price of gas?

In my research paper, i want it to be aware to the people of the public that the price of gas hasn't actually been very fair. The fact that the price of oil has dropped 50% since the middle of July and gas prices are just now starting to go down. There is something strange here. Why has the price of oil dropping so dramatically not cause the price of oil to be so cheap. I would think that this would lead to cheaper prices to the public to be fair. But, oil companies aren't being honest, or there are some facts that aren't too accurate. The price of gas should be going down as the price per barrel of oil keeps going down.

Are Oil Prices Rigged?

I read an article written by Ari J. Officer and Garrett J. Hayes in Time magazine. They talked about the amount of oil used daily and it was pretty significant. The amount of oil has reached about 80 million barrels a day. They were talking about how each barrel now costs around $110 and the price is slowly, but surely decreasing. I agree with what they said, and want to see how the price of oil could affect the economy. Our economy is dependent on oil. The tax on oil goes towards the government paying off some debt. The lower that the prices go, the less money that the government gets to pay off their debt. In some ways, it's nice knowing that prices are going down as a car owner, but as a member of the society, it might not pay off in the long run with the status of the economy.

Jonathon's VA Healthcare Post-

This is a response to Jonathon's blog on the VA fighting to get health care to the veterans. I see how important this is to him, and how much thought he has behind it. I agree with what he says and respect his thoughts. He wants to find out if the veterans will get their health care or if they will be left in the dust. By serving all that time, protecting the country, these men and women deserve nothing less than being ensured that health care won't be something that they have to worry about.

Oil Prices

I was reading up on some oil information and came across information on oil refineries. There has been 0 refineries build since 1976. This is because there is just no need to build more refineries. The lack of oil now, and the fact that the refineries would cost too much to build. It would be pointless to build the refineries with the lack of oil right now. And after the 700 billion dollars that was given out, it is foolish to spend a mass amount of money to build a refinery. The number of barrels produced a day has dropped from 17.9 million a day to 17.4 barrels a day. If the number was rising then it would be great to expand, but since it has done nothing but decline for the past few years, it's pointless to even consider building more refineries.
